Okay, so I thought of a second best piece, but we’ll get to that later.
I really had no clue what I was doing when I decided to start a Virtual Assistant business TWO days ago and I still don’t know what I’m doing now. Honestly, I don’t even know how it will work out, but I DO know that this piece of advice cleared up ALOT of confusion.
Only provide services you enjoy doing.
That’s it.
I know you’re thinking that that is a no brainer, but as you begin to brainstorm on all the services to offer, you ARE going to find yourself listing every single task you know how to do.
Even the tasks you hate because you want to provide all the things when you don’t have to.
Here’s what I did, I went back through all of my clerical jobs one by one to list the tasks I performed at each. Then, I made three sections on a piece of paper and sorted them out.
- Things I WILL NOT DO. (I’m looking directly at you cold calling)
- Things I won’t mind doing.
- Things I’d love to do.
Needless to say, the things on the first list won’t be found on my services menu.
The other items are loaded up onto my website for clients to review.
Now, what was that second thing????
Oh, yeah!
JUST DO IT!
There comes a point when doing your due diligence turns into procrastination. When I kept clicking back and forth around all the free website builders despite having read all the reviews TWICE, that was just procrastination.
I’ll admit it. I was afraid to commit. How do I know I’ve got the best option??
Well, I don’t know, but after I finally picked one, I ran with it and here I am.
Satisfied.
Do you want to be satisfied with the steps you’re taking for your virtual business, too? Then just choose the tasks you love and just do it!
